Varnish painting lines: High quality standards - painting plastic & more

Varnish has 4 painting painting lines with different features. The painting lines were designed directly by Varnish, also responsible for conceiving the strategic parts to assure high quality levels, increase production and energy efficiency, reduce the emissions and the environmental impact.
In one of these painting lines it is possible to paint components with sizes up to 3000x2000 mm and it is specialized in painting small series, rapid prototyping, sampling and outsized parts for high-end cars and other niche products in particular colors and special effects. It is a manual painting booth where operators with many years of experience accurately paint the parts in order to make them unique.
Two of these painting lines have been made in an Industry 4.0 perspective with a Lean approach to production.

LPL1 (Lean Paint Line#1)

Technical features

  • Production capacity: 20 jigs/h 3 layers, 25 jigs/h 2 layers, 30 jigs/h 1 layer
  • Loading area: grey room with filtered air
  • Entrance: air shower and technical corridor
  • CO2 cleaning and flaming: automated by robots
  • Spray Booth: conditioned with control of temperature and humidity
  • Spray Booth: Varnish patented painting process
  • Painting parameters management: PPMAN software

LPL2 (Lean Paint Line#2)

Technical features

  • Single-booth and single-robot compact painting line.
  • Compact-sized lines, high productive capacity (e.g: line dimensions 17x8 mt, 12.000 parts painted/dd in 3 layers, parts size 200x100x40h mm).
  • Flexibility: The plant as it stands allows wet-on-wet or cured-on-cured painting cycles
  • Small colour production batches to satisfy the Customer's needs
  • Anthropomorphic robots for CO2 cleaning and flaming assure repeatability in the painting processes
  • Painting parameters management: PPMAN software
  • Measurement and mixing system: GEAR-MIX system

RE.A.S. Recirculating Air System

Energy efficiency, Resources, Emissions

RE.A.S. is Varnish exclusive system for air recirculation within painting booths, able to cut down the energy consumption for heating and cooling processes up to the 80-90%. The cleansing of emissions is simplified too, since the volume of extracted air is significantly reduced.
Energy savings and cut of emissions lead to a double advantage: smaller production costs at the benefit of the Customer and a substantial act for environmental protection.

GEAR MIX

High-precision measurement and mixing

GEAR MIX is the Varnish original system for the exact measurement and mixing of bi-component paints. Products are painstakingly dosed by gear pumps driven by stepped-motors, then sent to the mixing group and finally to the paint guns.
The mixing group is equipped with compressed-air assisted washing system for a deeper cleaning and an accurate colour change.

PPM 4.0

Paint Process Management

PPM is the management software designed by Varnish for factory control in an Industry 4.0 perspective.
The software manages all the processes: from the control of the conveyors to the paint brush and the paint recipes. Every parameter is under control and every event is recorded in the production logs.
The system allows remote VPN management.
